Once we went through the migration to UC we received letters informing me / husband that I/ we have got over payments going back 25 years ago up until today. Just giving you notice, hope this helps. I / we contacted DWP regarding the over payments
Yes unfortunately more and more people are getting these nasty surprises as the DWP are integrating the information on the old IT systems such as Opstrat before abolishing them. So it brings up long forgotten debt from years ago....though having said that I think 25 years must be a record. May I ask what is the origin...Incapacity Benefit or the like ? I expect there will be old Crisis Loans resurfacing too.
