ESA85a and ESA85s, and ESA65 was created by TTD
Hi,
I've just been told that I'm staying in the Support Group for ESA without a medical! I'm so thankful to everyone here. I burst into tears when I read the letter, as I've been dreading the brown envelope since March.
Anyway, I've heard that I can ask for form ESA85a, ESA85s and ESA65, but what is the difference between them, and do I need all three, please?
Thanks for all your help.
TTD

Hello TTD
I've looked through the various ESA forms; the ESA85A is issued if Maximus is able to make a medical recommendation without needing a face to face assessment, so this is looking like the form you need.
The ESA 65 is issued if the Decision Maker is unable to change an award and effectively finds you fit for work, so I don't think you need that one.
The ESA85s I can't find!! No doubt one of our other mods or members will let you know what that is, and if it's anything you need.
So pleased for you that you are not being moved from the support group; it must be such a weight off your mind. If we can be of help at any other time, please get back to us. If you bookmark/favourite the page you'll be able to find us easily and we'll know what you are asking about.

Thanks, Shelam.
I found this after hours and hours of searching. It was written this year, but I don't know how accurate it is:
if you had a paper-based decision there will be an ESA85,
if you had a face to face assessment there will be an ESA85A.
both of these forms will give an indication as to length of time before reassessment in the form of a sentence like ( I advise that a return to work is unlikely for at least 2 years), this would mean reassessment in 2 years.
the ESA LT54 is the decision makers report and should state on what regs/laws/descriptor you were awarded and also a reassessment date.
the ESA85S is the decision makers Summary and may or not indicate scores for your award.
I hope this helps other people, too.
