PIPs, Hope Frustration Result!!

I will always remember this day!

As well as being the 70th anniversary of the D Day landings and everything our forefathers sacrificed and did for us!

But also that after months of agonizing before I made the call (am I doing the right thing?!), 133 days of waiting, filling in a very complicated and protracted form (42 pages), having to attend a very tiring assessment in Cardiff 13 miles away (with a very nice Capita Health Professional),numerous phone conversations with the DWP (weekly of late), I had a phone conversation with the DWP today and was informed my claim for PIPs has been:-.................................. GRANTED!!!!!!

I have been granted Standard Care allowance and Enhanced Mobility from 2nd of July (I was already in receipt of lower rate mobility (DLA)) for 5 years!

This was not the exact result I was going for but I believe it would be churlish of me (maybe even fool-hardy) to go for a Mandatory Reconsideration!!
I don't think it will sink in properly until I have the official paper in my hand and I certainly won't be ordering my Mobility Scooter until the money is in the bank!
But in the mean time I can sit and dream and be pleased that I have got my result!

I seem to recall reading somewhere you would like copies of assessment reports?
I have a copy of mine (ordered just in case).
Which would be the best way to get it to you?
Or did I imagine it?
I have trawled through an awesome amount of literature of late!

Hi Gordon, Bro,Mrs HB and other mods.
This is just a quick final (I hope) update on my journey from DLA to PIP.
The dates as calculated for my award for PIP have happened exactly as predicted!
I.E.
04 June PIP decision made.
24 June had last complete (4 weekly) DLA payment.
01 July received one week DLA payment.
02 July start of PIP.
28 July (today) received first 4 weekly PIP payment.

I have to say this last 8 weeks has been quite nerve racking waiting for this first PIP payment and I can finally sleep well for the next 5 years till I have to get on this merry-go-round again!

Finally a HUGE THANK YOU to you guys for all the efforts you have put in to the guides and your forum support during this time!
I have no doubt my success is down to you!
