I B to E S A Transfer was created by gma001
Hi
i have been a member for quite a few years now and now I would like to share my transfer process in the hope it will help others to get what they think they are entitled to without giving up.
Jan16th got a letter telling me about transfer. (one year early from next IB review)
Jan 23rd got E S A 50 to be completed by 15th Feb, I downloaded the pdf version and completed on the computer. I filled every box an also put 9 extra pages + 6 pages of medical evidence. repeated myself when I had to. I sent the completed form away on Jan 30th special delivery. checked that it was received the following day. I did not hear any more until yesterday. Result Straight into the support group CB without having to go for a medical.
Without Steve and all the mods I wouldn't been able to do it alone. whilst i was on IB since 1995 I had 6 medicals, 3 tribunals (won them all) I wasn't looking forward to been transferred as the tests are so hash I was all ready to give up. I followed the advice in detail from here and that is how i got my result. There is not a review date, but letter says E S A starts on April 12th and payments to 28th of November 2012, so I would assume that could be a review date.
The B & W team are a valuable asset to us (members) and I'M sure If this site didn't exist there would be a lot of us worse of. I thank you most sincerely. Sorry post is so long.

GMA
Congratulations.
The date in November is an administration date used by the DWP, it will not be your re-assessment date. If you want this, you should request your ESA85A medical report from the DWP, which usually has the prognosis used to determine it.

Well done.
I wish I had known about this site b4 I sent my form off in November, however I did find it in Feb, this site is so full of real help and advice I will use when I have to redo my next form sometime this year as you do in November for staying in support group.

Originally (I think!) the migration process was nearer to 8 weeks from recieving the original letter to the date you had to send the form in by -
1. You get letter telling you about the migration process.
2. A week later you got a telephone call off them. (One week gone overall)
3. A week later you recieved an ESA50. (Two weeks after original letter)
4. You had 6 weeks to fill form in. (Total 8 weeks from original letter about migration)
Now I remember the govt recently (sneakily) chopped two weeks off the six for filling the form in - so now reduced to six weeks overall but you appeared to have had a touch over four weeks overall from recieving the letter and just over three weeks to fill the form in - have the DWP changed the rules again?

Hi a72,
As you will see the OP sent the ESA50 back on the 30/01/12, even though it was not due for return until the 15/02/12, over a fortnight earlier than necessary.
This may have speeded the process up.
The only change in the rules, which happened around the end of October last year was reducing the time allowed to complete and return the ESA50 from 6 weeks to 4 weeks.
Cheers.

Hi
I asked DWP for ESA85a on 29 03 2012 and it arrived today,
Just one sheet saying the following:
Advice
I advise that the client meets the support group criteria as they have severe functional disability.
Prognosis.
I advise that a return to work is unlikely in the longer term.
Justification of advise.
The 113 and ESA50 suggests the client cannot mobilise unaided by another person, more than 50 metres without stopping because of significant discomfort or exhaustion due to psoriatic arthritis. This suggests the client has limited capability for work and work-related activity.
The rest of the form was the declaration of the Health care care professional and hand written at the bottom was my review date 20 02 2015.
Although only one of my disabilities were used I am pleased with the outcome and it is with grateful thanks to this site.
