Further EA 50 received was created by twosheds
I had my IB converted to ESA in February this year following my completion of a EA 50 and a subsequent medical assessment.

I have now been sent another EA 50 with the same covering letter concerning conversion from IB to ESA.

In there any reason to think that this is nothing but a mistake by ATOS?

If it has any bearing, I am currently awaiting my ESA appeal with the tribunals service regarding being placed in the work related instead of the support group.

Quite a number of our members have experienced this, our best guess is that ATOS are using up old stationery.

You can contact ATOS to ensure that it is not a mistake, there should be a phone number on the covering letter, but so far all of the ESA50s have been correctly issued.

Please be aware that the ESA Descriptors and Regulations were changed at the end of January, so you should make sure that you refer to the latest guides.

Unless you have it in writing from DWP that this is an error, you should assume that this is a routine assessment and ensure that the ESA50 is completed and submitted in time. I'm afraid it is not unusual to be reassessed before the appeal has been heard :(

Many thanks for your reply's.

There is no contact number included on the letter I received from ATOS just an instruction to contact Jobcentre plus.

I will be doing that imminently, but what possible reason can there be for me to complete another EA 50 when I have already been awarded ESA and have been placed in WRAG in February this year and it will only last for 12 months anyway?

Regards

All ESA Claimants, even those likely to have their payments stopped due to the time limit of ESA(CB) for members of the WRAG should expect to have their claims re-assessed, in fact you will still be re-assessed after your payments have stopped as a pre-requisite to your continuing to receive NI Credits which count towards a full State Pension.

As an aside, have you check whether you would be eligible for Income Related ESA at the end of the 365 days, it will be dependant on your household income, assets and savings and any hours that a partner works?

Following on from Gordon's excellent advice - as long as your claim is unbroken, payment would restart if you were put into the Support Group as a result of a future reassessment.
