I am waiting for my appeal date for ESA to come through. I am appealing against being put into the work focused group and not the support group. What I would like to know is would it be advisable to get a Solicitor or other professional person to represent me at the appeal?
Thanks Elaine
Hi E,
Where possible it should always be better to enlist the representation of a qualified WRO with an appeal, rather than a solicitor, as the WRO would be far more experienced in dealing with benefit appeals.
However, such representation has become much more difficult to secure, due to cuts in funding.
Many appellants are successful without representation.
See the FAQ below for potential sources of advice and representation :
Where to get advice? Failing that, try putting Welfare Rights/Advice into your search engine for your Town/Postcode.
