I went to my doctor's for evidence of ky illnesses and he was not happy he said the whole system was a farce, he gave me a print out of all what he said was relevant diagnosis he had on my records right back to 1989 , will this still count as evidence for my esa claim . Thank you
Hi i,
Any evidence that shows that you have been diagnosed and currently suffer with your medical conditions should help.
I don't know how many pages of documents your G.P. has given you but try to select the important extracts.
Once you have decided which of the above evidence that you are going to include with The ESA50, you should then draw reference to it to show that the limitations that you suffer as a result of the medical conditions qualify you under the relevant WRAG or SG Descriptors. :
Qualifying for the WRAG
Qualifying for the Support Group

Hi i,
ATOS do not contact G.P.s' as a matter of course for information, it is the exception rather than the rule.
If they do it would be in the form of an : ESA 113 Questionnaire
This is why we advise that members should try and obtain their own evidence to accompany the ESA50.
It is important to show what limitations are caused by the medical conditions, and how and why these limitations qualify you for the WRAG and/or The SG.
The ESA50 and ESA WCA assesses your "Capabilities" for work, and whether your limitations qualify you for WRAG in that you have Limited Capability for Work, (LCW) and/or The SG in that you also have Limited Capability for Work Related Activity. (LCWRA)
These are the qualifying descriptors :
WRAG (LCW)Schedule 2 Descriptors
ESA Reg 29 for entry to The WRAG (LCW)
PLUS Post 28/01/13 Amendment of :
(3) Paragraph (2)(b) does not apply where the risk could be reduced by a significant amount by—
(a)reasonable adjustments being made in the claimant’s workplace;
or
(b)the claimant taking medication to manage the claimant’s condition where such medication has been prescribed for the claimant by a registered medical practitioner treating the claimant.”.
From :
www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2012/3096/regulation/3/made
&
SG (LCWRA)Schedule 3 Descriptors
ESA Reg 35 for entry to The SG (LCWRA)
If your G.P. would state that they feel that you qualify for any of the qualifying descriptors due to the limitations caused by your medical conditions, this would help further.
If the G.P. won't, you will have to try and show how you qualify under the relevant descriptors yourself.
All this is explained in our ESA Claims Guides under the heading of :
"New ESA50 form"
