HI Bro58,

You very kindly answered my question last week and I also had a look at the links, so sorry, but I am still not so clear  I have read up loads on this over the weekend, but still not sure, :(

Over the weekend, I have managed to fill out most my friends ESA50, however, I am still stuck on Standing and sitting. Is it a combination of two together????

I have stated approx. time she can stay seated, which is about 15mins, she then has get up due to the pain and would need physical assistance and stated why she can stand for another 5mins due to lower limb problems, I have listed these.

However, sometimes she used to be able to get up with extreme pain and discomfort with her elbow crutch or combination of the two, meaning with help and using the crutch. Do I put this down???

Furthermore, if one used their crutch once with pain and discomfort because they had to, as no one was around to help, but they could not do this again, repeatedly, reliably and safely, would they score any points???

Thank You

Radhika

The Descriptor was amended in January so that it was clear that it was Standing and Sitting rather than Standing or Sitting, so if you can stand for 5 minutes and then sit for 60 minutes (65 minutes in total), then you will not score points.

You should include any restrictions that your friend has in doing this, in particular if this includes moving from standing to sitting or vice versa, also if they need assistance to remain standing then you should highlight this as well.

Repeatability is important but only in the context of the one hour maximum period, you should also consider whether your friend can remain at a workstation, as soon as they move away due to significant discomfort or exhaustion, the clock stops.

Sorry did not reply to your answer earlier, as I had to read it a couple of times before I could get my head around it and was running out of time to get form completed.

Many Thanks as always for your answer, which eventually does make sense :woohoo:
