SG reconsideration success but one more question was created by tazman
I was recently re-assessed and placed in WRAG with a re-referral recommendation of 2 years. I sent in my GL24 and, thanks to this wonderful site, have been placed in the support group after reconsideration.
This process takes up so much of our physical and mental strength and I cried when I read the letter. At first I couldn't believe it and had to keep checking! After so many years of turning myself inside out and upside down, I was beginning to believe that there were no human beings left at DWP. Obviously there are still some who have compassion and belief that people really do have illnesses that cannot just be wished away. If only.
I am aware that this euphoria could be short lived, but wonder if the recommendation of 2 years re-referral will still be applicable now that I have been moved to SG.
I do try not to post if I can help it but wanted to combine my enquiry with a heartfelt thankyou. B & W has been like a caring friend to me and the only place to turn many times. I could not have coped without you all.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Many congratulations on the award and thank you for your comments on B&W.
The simplest thing is to ring up the DWP and ask, sometimes a new re-assessment date is entered and some times the previous one is left in place, also the maximum period for the SG is three years against the two for the WRAG, so there may be reason for it to have been changed.

Thanks Gordon. I really don't like ringing and unless its likely to be less than 2 years, I'm happy to let it lie. Just the thought of having to deal with them over the phone starts me shaking.
If I can have approximately 2 years without fear of the postman, I will feel much lighter!

You can write to them for the information, as far as I know it is not held on a specific document but is rather an entry on the DWP computer system.
