re-arranging the medical assessment date

my question is regarding re-arranging the appointment's date, can I call atos and ask to re-arrange the appointment? is that an easy process?
do I need to get into details and give them an specific reason for changing the appointment or would they accept any general reason?

You can re-arrange the appointment once without fault, all you need to do is contact ATOS there should be a phone number on the appointment letter, they are likely to ask you why you are moving it, but should accept your reasons.
Please be aware that you will not be able to move the new appointment and if you fail to attend there is a good chance that ATOS will return your file to the DWP and your claim could be closed.

I'm aware the sooner I do the better in general, however I'm not 100% sure about the suitable date yet and it might take another week for me to find out.(current appointment is in around 2 weeks time)
Sooner rather than later but you can phone them on the day if necessary.
