ib to ESA was created by cmt
I am in the process of transferring from ib to ESA filling the application form out and wanted to add as much evidence as possible to get into the support group. I was thinking about adding some photos to show the extent of the muscle wastage of the lower legs and contracture of my feet and ankles , does anyone have any advice and does anyone think it would be beneficial to add photos.

Hi cmt,

We are aware of other members who have used photographs with their evidence.

If you are to do this, it may help if you can somehow include one that has your face in it. You could also hold a newspaper next to any photograph to prove that it was current.

Any form of evidence that you provide should be referred to, not only to show that you suffer from any particular medical condition, but that you also suffer from the resulting limitations that would qualify you under the relevant WRAG and/or SG Descriptors.

Hi cmt,

It may help further, if you could get an HCP, such as your G.P. or practice nurse to sign the back of the photograph stating that it is a true and accurate image of your legs, feet, ankles, etc.

thanks for the reply bro58 yes I have got a photo of me sat in my wheelchair and with my crutches I have a letter from my gp stating my condition and one from the occupational therapist and my wife is writing a letter about the extent that she assists me, hopefully this might be enough evidence.

Hi CMT
I also have substantial muscle wastage on my left left leg, but you have to explain the limitations and restrictions of this condition

Hi cmt,

Bud is correct.

Don't forget, that if you are trying to qualify under Activity 1, the "mobilising" descriptors, it also takes into account whether or not you can self propel a manual wheelchair unaided.

So it is not just a walking test.

WRAG (LCW)Schedule 2 Descriptors

SG (LCWRA)Schedule 3 Descriptors

This is covered in our ESA Claims Guides.

Have you thought of :

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Whilst referring to the guides under the heading of "New ESA50 form"
