Making the best of a bad lot!
IB to support group without medical! was created by mmpkelly1
I received notification on Saturday morning that I have been transferred to ESA support group without a medical! Part of me still can't believe it even though I knew I met at least 2 of the support group descriptors.
The relief is incredible & I have to thank the good folks at B&W for the guides & advice
It doesn't matter how many times people, including my GP, support nurse & consultant neurologist told me there was no way I'd be capable of work, you think of the horror stories about seriously I'll claimants being found fit!!
I had a career that I loved & I'd like to tell Mr Cameron et al, that there's nothing would please me more than to be fit to resume it!!! Does he think I want to be at home in a wheelchair, permanently catheterised, relying on my husband to help wash & dress me, aged 45, for the sake of £105 pw??
Sorry, rant over
My review date is November 2015, can anyone tell me is this an average award or do you know of longer?
As I began, I'm delighted & relieved the whole things over esp without a medical!!
Good luck to all still in the process & best wishes to all contributors & mods on this wonderful site !

Hi Nini, thank you so much for sharing your 'good' news, and for you kind words about this site

Don't forget that you can ask for your ESA85A if you would like information about how this decision was made and/or when to expect reassessment. This FAQ is helpful even if you did not have a medical

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

Three years to the next assessment is the maximum award that we are aware of for the Support Group.

  			 				Nina,
I'm so pleased and relieved for you. And you're right to have a quiet rant. The politians and the media lackies forget that many claimants have lost a career to which they were devoted along with hopes for the future. Benefits are certainly not a "lifestyle choice". Anyway, relax and enjoy a glass of something nice...
