Thank you and advice re dates within Award Letter was created by theresa
Hello All
This is my 1st post on the forum although I have been a member for a while now.
Thanks to the wonderful guides and also the information provided by the Members and Mods/staff on the forum my Husband
received a letter on Saturday morning stating he will be transfered from IB to ESA support group on the 1st June.
Fantastic and I know this result would have been a lot more difficult without your help.
On the last page of the letter titled How Employment and Support Benefit Allowance has been worked out it states the amount (rate) of ESA benefit
and goes on to state that he qualifies for Income based ESA but is on contribution based ESA because he also qualifies for that
It then states "the amounts on this page apply from 1st June 2012 to 29 November 2012."
I take it that these dates mean he has only been awarded esa support for only 6 months
and we will need to go through filling in a esa50 again in around 4/5 months giving that you get a month to fill in the form, time for dwp and atos to reach a decision etc
Or as you are meant to qualify for support group for as long as your condition meets the critera after the 6 months
do we only need to provide proof that nothing has changed i.e. A letter from a consultant stating his condition has not changed and will not change
Or do these dates something else entirely and not the length of award?
Thank you once again for all your help.

Hi Theresa
Well done to you and your husband for getting through it!
I believe your last suggestion is correct - the dates on the letter are purely administrative.
You can find your husband's likely review date by asking for a copy of the ESA85A. See
ESA medical – what forms to ask for?
Regards

Derek, Thank you for your prompt reply I am grateful.
Would it also be worthwhile as he was transferred from IB to ESA asking for a copy of "The LT54 form (DMACR) completed by the Decision Maker "
Once again Many Thanks

Hi Theresa
Yes, it definitely would be worthwhile.
I would ask for a copy of all documents relevant to the decision, but from my experience the only certain way to obtain them is to make a subject access request. I often request documents over the phone and don't hear from them again!
Good luck
Derek
