At last I have won both of my appeals for Incapacity Benefit and EESA. I scored 21 points for Incapacity and 15 for EESA after being awarded 1 point and Nil points at my medicals.
I have been waiting for my appeals since February 2010 and July 2010.
Unfortunately, my husband died at the end of March and I couldn't believe it when my appeals both came through on 14 April, (what bad timing). I was not in any fit state to deal with this, but my representative at the Law Centre advised me to go ahead. He told me I had a 50% chance of winning my case.
Well, I reluctantly arrived on the day and to say I was shocked to win both appeals is an understatement. I did have a new doctor on the panel who did not seem to know what he was doing. Both of my appeals were heard together and the whole thing took less than an hour.
I am still awaiting my back payments and don't know what happens now or how long it all takes to get sorted.
