Indefinate Award Mobility problem with Care

I was awarded 4 years ago high rate mobility for an indefinite period.
Now I want to claim the Care Element due to a deterioration in my health. DLA say i have to complete a new claim pack for both Mobility and Care. WHY - I had a choice with my first claim and only chose Mobility. Now I only want to claim Care. Why is my choice being removed. I have a life award don't I for Mobility.

in nearly same boat as you - i phoned them today to ask care to be looked at again and they said will send forms but may look at whole lot again...could be awarded higher care, could lose it all ??? surely it cant be legal ?? i have posted question on here about it...

I sent my forms in 2 weeks ago I have had mobility indef for 15 years I wanted care

I have been awarded care middle rate and kept my higher mobility idef too( 2 week turn around one of about 4 on here)

I DID Not fill in the mobility I wrote in each box

NO CHange to my mobility please look at care only

I was told by welfare people as long as nothing I put in the care section gave them some conceren that the mobility was wrong they would have no need to look at it. if i put something in such a way in care it brought into question my mobility then there would be no problem and there was not, it went like clockwork

I only found out after filling in forms and thinking about the risks of losing my mobility that only 3% of 160,000 ppeople asking for it to be looked at again lose all there dla

follow the guides and get your form checked that you have done nothing stupid

dla are right you have to fill the form in but they are not telling you what to put

Thank you for the response.Just as I believed. When a form is received the claimant has two choices (care) & (mobility) and he/she makes the choice OR one claims both elements. My feeling was to simply say my emphasemia has got worse.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a lifetime award, as the DWP can re-assess anybody at any time, as part of the their Randon Re-assessment Programme.

Read in one of the manuals that they do 12,000 random reviews in a year the only people they dont do is people whos award is less than 12 months old
