when does 'Life' mean 'Life'??

We all now know that when a prisoner is sentenced to 'Life' these days, compared to 40 years ago, it does not usually mean Life at all, but does that also apply to DLA benefits?

I was awarded DLA 'For Life' in 1995 but now live in fear of it being taken away.

How can a new Law be introduced which negates previous decisions by the DLA 15 years ago. I have not got any better, I have got worse over those years. That is expected as I have incurable conditions.

How come I was deemed to be incurable and unfit for any work 15 years ago but could now be deemed 'fit for work' ?(maybe, as I haven't been reassessed yet).

Have I been cured of these incurable disabilities and nobody has told my body they have somehow all gone away??

Can this not be challenged by someone with enough money to do so in the Courts?
The Law in this country could never be applied retrospectively, (originally,) did I miss the time when that was revoked?

If I were rich I would challenge the DLA/Government to be able to do this to us, but I'm not, so can't...

Maybe someone more knowledgeable on this site can do so for the sake of all of us.

Mercury,you`re in the same boat as me regarding lifetime awards of DLA and being found unfit to work again due to a worsening incurable condition(s)etc etc.

I suggest that you write to your MP and tell them of your predicament and how worried you are.

Also, ask them how the govt are "protecting" the most vulnerable when they are subjecting them to unfair medicals and a possibilty of DLA being taken away when it`s been awarded for life.

You`ll at least get a standard "full of bullshine"letter from the Minister for disabled people Maria Miller ,but if 100s of people wrote to their MPs about the same thing it all adds up to a big protest.
PS,I prefer to call Ms Miller "minister against disabled people" rather than "for" !!!
