How do you go about getting the examination recorded?
Is this really important?
There's so much conflicting advice regarding these examinations and what to do or how to be at one, I'm so confused now, surely there must be clearer advice ragarding this matter?
Please help?

A few questions on Medicals.
If you ask to have it recorded are you creating tension between yourself and medical examiner?
How long should medical take? If your accompanying companion takes notes and this is labouriously slow will they try to hurry you along? If everyone doubled the time would this mess up their schedules?
If one has severe mobility problems can one ask for a disabled parking bay in their carpark to be made available for them?

Thanks.

i was the first 1 to have their medical recorded. it went fine. i got my copy of the tape and left (the BBC played part of it in the news a wile ago)

just a shame that what was on the tape was not in his report.

just let them know in advance you want it recorded.

It may cause tension but is that a bad thing? At least he or she will have to tell the truth!

The length of a medical can vary considerably, depending on the claimants disability. I doubt that a doctor will wait for a note-taker to finish writing; the note-taker will have to be brief, and perhaps fill in the gaps after the medical while everything is fresh in the memory.

I don't know about having a parking space reserved but there is no harm in asking Medical Services.

Hi, I have to agree with tb1uk and Derek. I think all medicals should be recorded as a matter of course.

Having gone through my appeals bundle again thismorning, I found even more mistakes and errors. At least these could be proved if there were a recording of the medical.

Best wishes,
Rachel

This sounds all so stressful. Whenever I had an IB medical the dr was very friendly and after each one said I would be getting the results in due course but not to worry as everything will be ok.
Do these Atos medical screeners ( won't call them Drs) get paid on results - I.e. A bonus for hitting targets?
