Medical Report Question was created by PauH
Hi everyone
I obtained my medical report from last year as I am being re-assessed and just been called to another medical at the ATOS Medical Centre.
Once I get the letter from the DWP I will find out what will be happening to me and if they change my payments.
On the medical report the computer generates can anyone tell me where the number of points I have scored as I cant find it anywhere or I am not looking in the place.
I intend to get a report for this medical I have just had as there are more medical problems this time around.
Thanks from Paul

Hi PauH
Bizarrely, ESA85 medical reports do not have the points scored printed on them.
You should be able to work it out by looking at how you score points in the ESA claims guide and comparing them to the comments on your medical report.
For example, if the report says (can't remember the exact wording) that it takes you twice as long as somebody without a mental disablement to complete an ordinary every day task with which the claimant is familiar, that's worth 15 points.

The points scored are not recorded on the ESA85 medical report, but you can work the score out for yourself if you compare the medical assessor's report and the chosen descriptors, against the points score in the ESA limited capability for work descriptors from page 16 in the "Understanding Employment and Support Allowance" guide which is available in the ESA resources area HERE.

Hi PaulH
If it hasn't been deleted/shredded you should be able to get a coopy from DWP of the Decision Maker's decision sheet which will show the points scored for each descriptor.

When I requested a copy of my medical report I asked for ALL the documentation regarding the decision, including specifically the decision makers report. For one reason or another they only sent the medical report (on bog roll standard recycled paper I should add).
I didn't bother chasing them up as I passed my medical, but now that you reminded me Maggie, I think I will. The decision makers report, as well as containing a score sheet, may contain comments not in the medical report and would be useful to keep in addition to the medical report.

Hi Derek and maggie thanks so much for your help and good advice this will help me with the appeal stage if one my GP has condoned everything I told the HCP I did not make things up and everything I said at the medical was truthful and correct and can be verified by all the consultants involved and my GP.
