Meeting E.S.A WRAG Conditions was created by Bad Back Bill
Hi All,
one of the conditions for the E.S.A WRAG group stipulates:
Customers must carry out reasonable steps to manage their condition and help move toward the workplace by undertaking any relevant activity, which will be developed with the support and encouragement of a specialist adviser involving attending pathways interviews.
I have recently undertaken an A.T.O.S home medical assessment (arranged as medical evidence stated and agreed by A.T.O.S that My medical condition prevented Me attending an assessment centre).
As a result I remain in the E.S.A WRAG.
I phoned the E.S.A helpline yesterday and
asked how I was expected to guarantee
the attendance of pathways interviews
especially with another spinal operation
looming also explaining I cannot guarantee being able to meet the above condition thus breaking the contract with regard to E.S.A WRAG award.
I have requested form GL24 in order to be placed into the support group until the results of the next op are known.
Operation somewhere between Jan-March 2011 appeal for support group ???
Can one of the moderators please advise
how to approach this problem.

Hi All,
GL24 and A.T.O.S medical being forwarded by the D.W.P.Appeal advice downloaded from the site,Pathways to work
have been contacted.(who are already aware of My position)
So far advice given is to attend the first Work Related Assessment (if possible)
and take all medical evidence with Me.
Interesting point should I actually see an
advisor at Pathways or the D.W.P D.E.A??
Any other advice help web sites appreciated.

Hi BBB
Your first interview is usually with a JCP advisor, and the following interviews with a contracted agency.
If you are unable to attend you can call them and ask to have the interview rearranged. I believe it is also possible to have a WFI over the phone.
If the advisor you see feels that the interviews are of no benefit to you or would cause you difficulty, they can defer the interviews, or even waive them altogether. I think there is a fair chance of them doing this for you. I had mine deferred because my advisor felt I needed more time, even though I would not have any difficulty attending.
At the very least they should let you get over your operation.
Best of luck
Derek

Thanks for the reply Derek,
apologies for the late response .
The information You have provided gives Me an idea what to expect from the DWP regarding My situation.Knowledge and preparation are always an asset when dealing with authority.
I will await the copy of the A.T.O.S medical assessment, there is a strong possibility of an appeal for support group status simply because I have nothing to lose.
They may have a long wait for Me to get over My operation the last one was in July 2009 and I have not got over that one yet.
Cheers
Bill
