Strange or what? was created by bluejay52
Hello all.
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my question.
My local chemist rang yesterday and told me my prescription was ready to pick up.
I went today to collect it and whilst doing so was asked if I would see the pharmacist,I was sat down in a small room with him and he tapped into his computer, and a form came on the monitor with the NHS logo on the top,I was asked when I took my treatment(s) and if I had any side effects, and loads of other questions.
Now we know that The ConDems want everybody back to work irresective of their condition-that is apparent.
I wonder if when my DLA&IB come up for renewal if the blighters can access this information and use this against me in any form...or am I being neurotic??????????? :woohoo:

Hello all.
The reason for my post is that ive been on IB & DLA(HRM & LRC) since 2008 after being medically retired from "a"local authority after 18 years. My condition has got a lot worse but Im not inclined to tell anyone
incase they withdraw my benefits-that I depend upon....

Im sorry if I have confused anyone! :woohoo:

Hi bluejay52

Thanks for your posts.

I wonder if when my DLA&IB come up for renewal if the blighters can access this information and use this against me in any form...or am I being neurotic???????????

Knowing the incompetence of respective Governments regarding IT (and more besides! lol) I'd be inclined to doubt that they'd link this information to benefit claims!

It sounds to me as if you've had a "medication check." I haven't had one of these myself but I've seen them advertised at pharmacies. The idea is that the pharmacist will go through your meds with you (including non-prescription ones) to check that you're taking them OK, not getting serious side effects, not on medications that "clash" etc. If you're concerned what this was for I suggest you ask the pharmacy whether it was indeed a routine medication check.

Hope this helps

Mr B :)

Hi bluejay52

From what you've described I thought it might have just been a market research survey. Or it may well have been a medication check.

Whatever it was, I think that it is highly unlikely the DWP will have access to information obtained from a chemist, and it is not likely to affect your benefit.

It's worth mentioning that you don't have to agree to be interviewed at a chemist if you don't want to, unlike the DWP where you have no choice if you are asked to attend an interview. :)

The same happened to me some 6 months ago. I refused to answer his questions and stated "i disscuss such things with my doctor" and left. I then changed the chemist i use. What gives them the right to interrogate you?

Hi my Hubby has had one of these, I'm sure they are just a "medication check". By the way my hubby doesn't claim any benefits, so I don't think it's anything to worry about.
