INCAPACITY BENEFIT was created by VALERIE
I have been on incapacity since 2005. A couple of years ago I asked if I could go on the £20 lower limit which I did as and when I was able - and was put on lower limit indefinately. I would like to try the higher limit of up to £90 but am concerned incase it complicates things. Work I carry out is self employed. My health fluctuates regularly and anxiety compounds illness. My first and last medical was in jan 2006 and have been told I have another this November. Is there any advice from anyone that I may be be able to apply for disability.

When you say "apply for disability" do you mean Disability Living Allowance?

If so, you can claim the allowance if you think you have care/mobility needs, and more information together with the claim form can be downloaded from the Directgov website HERE.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Valerie,
Also check out the members guides for "permitted work" and "if i do any work can i continue to claim my ..." here .
You would need to seek help from an advice agency as the Higher rate permitted work can only be done for a year unless it is supported (as stated in the guides in the above link).

Hope this helps
Rich
