Those nearing retirement transfer info. was created by Martin Shaw
Hi,
I just found this which could be of interest to some of us:-
Claimants who reach pensionable age before the end of March 2014 will not be migrated to ESA, they will stay on their current benefits. The DWP say this is to avoid people having to make two changes of benefit in a short period of time.

Hi Steve,
Yes, I found that link on the bottom of the page you referred to from another direction.
So it would appear that us older folks could well be left on the IB medical which will be better for us with a bit of luck?
Can we insist that they follow those regs when we get our next medical do you think?

Hi Zuxo,
The DWP don't get a choice as to whether they follow the regs once they are in force.
My suspicion, and it is only a suspicion, is that people who are not subject to migration may be just left in peace to reach retirement age.
