Query about recording the ESA medical

Query about recording the ESA medical was created by chevycat
I'm aware that I may have an ESA medical audio taped, subject to the following guidelines in the ESA handbook being met...

"The recording must be made by a professional operator, on equipment of a high standard, properly calibrated by a qualified engineer immediately prior to the recording being made.
The equipment must have facility for reproduction so that a copy of the tape can be retained by all parties."

My query is, does anyone know of a company/operator who can provide this service? We're based in the South East. I wouldn't even know what to enter into Google to bring up services of this nature!

Presumably if the recording is made using the correct procedure and the 'doctor' (I use that term loosely) has pre-agreed and is aware, then it is admissible as evidence?

Advice appreciated.

Hi chevycat,

'Sound engineer' should do it. But be aware that another of our members managed to meet all the Atos requirements and was simply told that no doctor would agree to be recorded.

The tribunal is free to consider any evidence it wishes.

A covertly recorded tape, or a transcript of it, may be admissable. This would particularly be the case if you had met all the requirements and still been refused permission to openly record the medical.

Good luck,

steve
