Pip ongoing confused was created by lollo1
Hi our son was awarded high rate care and mobility back in 2017. His award states , ongoing award to be contacted after 27th May 2027. After reading a few people’s comments about ongoing award I am confused. Is this an ongoing award with the likely hood of getting a possible AR2 form after that date, or is this an ongoing award with an end date that he has been given. I am aware they can assess you at any point just wondering if anyone has had similar. Not sure if current folk on this kind of award who have been reviewed are being sent out review forms early or later than expected. Kind regards.

Hi lollo1

He has an ongoing award with an end date - and therefore I would expect him to receive an AR1 form around May 2027.

Thanks Bis, I thought his next review would be a light touch with it being an ongoing award. So it won’t be an AR2 form ?? I was hoping it would be AR2 with it being ongoing. I will assume the letter may come at any point from now. Thanks for the reply.

Hi lollo1

It is whether a claimant with an ongoing award has an end date that determines whether they are sent an AR1 or AR2 - not the ongoing part. They would also receive an AR2 form if they have reached SPA I am assuming your son has not yet reached state pension age. He was given a date on his letter - May 27, and therefore, I would expect him to receive an AR1 form. There are always a few exceptions to the rules - I can only suggest what to expect.
