Hello
I am currently in receipt of New Style ESA and a small top up of UC.
I receive a monthly Occupational Pension of £375.00 per month which is deducted in full from my benefits. It is due to increase slightly next month.
My question is, who do I inform about the increase? ESA or UC?

Hi soulgal
I would inform both and also Council Tax if you pay it, just to be on the safe side.
Just check that the pension is only deducted from the UC and you get the full amount of NS ESA.

Many thanks for your reply. I will do as you suggest.
After posting this I had another thought, will the increase (and also the yearly benefit increases) erode my transitional protection?

Hi soulgal
Your annual pension increase isn't taken off Transitional Protection it's deducted from your UC standard allowance. However the annual UC Benefit uprating is lost to those with TP from which it is deducted.
