Which UC journal message category?! was created by Ant
Hello,
The B&W guide for ESA to UC managed migration advises claimants to put notes in their UC journal pointing out that they shouldn't be required to provide fit notes or undergo a WCA as part of their migration. It also advises using the journal to report complex needs.
Both of these I'd like to do.
Having just submitted my claim, I'd also like to provide the DWP with more information on some of the answers I gave. (There was no "other information" section on the claim form.)
However, when I go into my journal, I'm asked to choose a category for my message and am bemused by the options given. They are as follows (repeated verbatim).
o Appointment
o Change of circumstances
o Job applications
o Message for my work coach
o Payment
o Work search note
Presumably, these all route messages to different departments, but there's no option for "my claim", "admin." or "something else".
Unless I've missed something, the UC service offered me no introduction on how to use my journal (or who, or even what, a work coach is).
Which of the options would you recommend for (1) the no-fit note / no-WCA message, (2) reporting complex needs and (3) sending information that couldn't go on the claim form?
Help would be much appreciated.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Ant
The point of the managed migration (as far as the DWP is concerned) is that they don't need that information for the migration process, which is why I think they don't offer it as an option. You can wait to hear from them and then reply to what will probably be a work coach or just pick 'appointmen't. They will forward it elsewhere if it is wrong.
