Hello everyone,

Less one year ago i think, I sent in my documents for my PIP review but they never acted it on it, and sent me a letter to say they intended to do the review in 1 year from their letter.
If I send in new evidence now I have worsened, is there a risk they will do the review earlier than when they are meant to, if so I may send my evidence in a few months time.

Thank you.
All the Best!

Hi VIA

I can't give you a definitive answer, because whatever you have been told, the DWP has the right to review any claimant at any time, regardless of any dates they have been given. Even those who have been given a date at a Tribunal often find a review form is sent out up to a year before the end date. The DWP is generally more interested in claimants who have got better because it saves them money. They are less interested in those that have worsened because if the claimant hasn't got an enhanced award for both parts, it may cost them more money.

The DWP guidelines say that claimants should inform them when there are changes to their condition. (better or worse). Many people whose conditions have worsened don't inform the DWP until a review form pops through their letterbox. I can't tell you what to do here. Each claimant has to make up their own mind.
