Hi, I have recently gone through the migration process, and found it pretty straightforward. As long as you wait for your letter to arrive, and complete it before the deadline, you shouldn’t have any issues.

If you do have any questions, you can ask your work coach, they are happy to help.

The questions are self explanatory, you don’t get asked details of your existing benefits. They do that side of things automatically.

I still get my ESA every 2 weeks, although this is at a reduced rate. I still get PIP every 4 weeks, the same amount as normal. I am now getting UC monthly on top, which includes the disability allocation and my housing benefit.

On calculating the difference between old versions and new, I am actually better off now I’ve migrated.

Long story short, the process wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I am shortly due my second lot of UC, in between this my ESA and PIP were paid as normal, every 2 weeks and 4 weeks respectively.

You do have the option of having the UC element paid fortnightly, just like your ESA. I chose to leave it, and I will see how I manage for a few months, but I know the option of fortnightly is available if I want that option.
