hi , i have had my UC 'invitation' from what i can see i will struggle with ID. It says that a P60 will do as one form, will a p60/U that my husband gets for his esa count? If yes ive read im supposed to get one for carers but never have could i ring them up and request one (especially as its April.)

secondly is there some part on the electronic form where i can say that i have 2 ( nearly 30) adult children living with us who pay a small amount towards their food etc. will this count as income? I was informed when i went to the coumcil regarding help with councill tax that my kids money doesnt affect our benefits as my husband gets highest rate pip. (we dont pay rent as we own our house) so will it be the same with UC. we have no other income besides esa /pip/ carers.

Hi Rachlv

If you experience difficulties with ID you can request a phone Biographical Test or a Home Visit.
Generally you are better off under UC than Housing Benefit with adult children living at home. They are allowed to give you money which isn't counted as income. Here is some information--

Hi Rachlv

Yes a Forum member reported using a P60 as part of their UC ID check.

This link contradicts what you have said. A P60 yes, but a P60U was not unless this has changed in the last 2 months?

I did mine yesterday and it said P60 but instead of that it used my Credit Record. I also used my driving licence.
I just saw this article saying from the 8th April 2025 the DWP are no longer using P60 as proof of id.

I don't know how to add a link here.
