What happens if you get sanctioned? How long would it go on for until it affects you rent money?
If I there’s an argument that cannot be resolved with Uc and I am unable to do what they want and get sanctioned, are they able to close my claim and therefore I won’t have rent paid?
No the UC Sanction only affects the personal allowance and not the rent part which they call the Housing Costs element. and No a Sanction cannot close a claim. The only time that a UC claim is closed by a Work Coach is when you refuse to accept a Claimant Commitment.
