Move to Universal Credit was created by B3lla
Hi, I recently moved to another county so I have to move from ESA to UC. I had to have an appointment today, to prove my identity, as it wouldn't accept my answers online. The person I saw at the JC, paid if I get a sick note from my GP, I will be entitled to an extra £400 but the sick note will go to an assessor first, for them to make a decision. I don't know why I need sick notes as I was in the ESA support group.
Could someone explain this please and what my rights are regarding this? As far as I knew. I didn't have to be reassessed if I was previously in ESA support group.
Many thanks

Hi B3lla,
This should not be happening as the DWP have promised that existing ESA claimants would not be obliged to submit Fit Notes or have another medical. You should be able to send a message of complaint through your UC online Journal. If you are happy to tell me the county you reside in I can find the name of the DWP manager that you need to send your complaint to.

Hi B3lla,
The name of the Jobcentre manager for your area is Tilini Sharland. When you type out your complaint on the UC Journal make it for the attention of Tilini Sharland, District Manager and then choose from the drop down list Work Coach having copied your message first. Now you can send another message pasting in the first but this time choose from the drop down list Service Issue. The reason for sending it to 2 different teams is that complaints to the DWP can easily get " lost ". Let me know how you get on.

Hi David
It seems somebody picked up on it before I read your message. They have now cancelled future appointments and have told me that I now don't need sick notes.
Thank you so much for your help.
