Hi Vangel
HB is means tested which means that if you have to claim HB then you will be sent a transitional letter at some stage. The other benefits you mention will not be affected.

Gary thanks so much for your additional reply . I understand
This morning I received the letter from the DWP on claiming UC for HB and CTC by January .
However im okay as I am I pre uou sky w plainer to the CTC that my son completes college july 2025 if they can place any change till then . My payments seem to run till March 2025 for now . The letter states I can ask if possible to have this differed if I need more time ? My mum passed away and I suffered a bad episode 4 months now feeling very off and very down with symptoms of ti iyia headaches etc . Are we able to request to have the UC date prolonged if we need more time ?
It says if you need lord time call them ? Do you have any guidance on this ? Should I contact the UC or CTC ?
From what I read I can remain as I am to avoid more stress till my son finishes july ? Cannot cops with anything else . Is there guidance on this and how to go about it ? Grateful for any reply

Hi Vangel
As we do not have all your details we cannot give you any advice as there is a number of factors to take into consideration. Timing is a big factor as when to start your conversion over to UC, we would advise you to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk
