Impending divorce and benefits was created by Cath50t
I am at the very early stages of divorcing my emotionally abusive husband. I am currently in receipt of PIP and contribution based ESA. I, and my family receive no other benefits.
I personally have less than £6000 in savings(a gift from a family member) and have no access to any other household finances/financial information or accounts. This is a major worry because I cannot declare what our current household savings are.
We have a flat which the mortgage is paid off and is currently rented out.
We also live in a rented house.
I am also worried that when I do finally get my housing association home that I’m going to be financially in difficulties.
Any relevant info would be very much appreciated.

Hi Cath50t

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. You need to talk to a specialist welfare advisor and ask them to look at your entire situation using the information you do have access to. They will tell you about any benefits you are entitled to or any grants available. I have attached a link to see if you can find one in your area. I know it's not easy, and many services have a high volume of people they are trying to help, but your question is outside the remit of this forum and you definitely need a specialist to support you.
