Review of pip living allowance was created by Sharon
After receiving pip for 4 years, they have now decided to reduce to the standard rate on living allowance and raise the motorbillity to the advanced rate, not sure if this is allowed, do you think I should say that he was under the higher and nothing has changed,

Hi Sharon

If the person you are talking about has had a PIP review, the DWP can make any changes they see fit. If you disagree with the change you can put in for a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR). If you want to put in for an MR, you need to do it within one month of the date on the decision letter. You would also be advised to get a copy of the assessment report. If they had a telephone or video assessment - the report will be a PA4. If they had a paper-based assessment - it would be a PA5 - but you may find that no report was written. The report should explain the reason behind the decision, and it should make it easier to write your MR. You can request a copy of the assessment report from the DWP. It takes 7 - 10 days to arrive.

You can get more information on how to write an MR in the Guide to PIP Appeals. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip (scroll down the page to see the right guide). You might also find it useful to read the guide on how to challenge a medical report.
