Still No Decision - Anything To Do With The Health and Disability Green Paper? was created by AndyWalker13
Hi, like hundreds on here, still awaiting a decision on my PIP papers I submitted June 2023. I received another temporary award, my second so far and 2 or 3 texts telling me they are still "progressing my review" ..... I am beginning to become paranoid this is all part of a bigger picture linked to Sunak's and Stride's vendetta against the disabled. I think it is fair to assume thousands of decisions have been put on hold while they work on the above study. According to gov.uk 'official stats for the quarter ending oct 2023' I quote "110,000 planned award reviews registered and 110,000 cleared" If that was achieved in a 3 month period, why are thousands of us still waiting for a decision a year or so down the line? In addition to this, I have the up to date figures for the latest quarter ending January 2024 and there were "130,000 planned award reviews registered and 120,000 cleared" .... It does not feel like they have much of a backlog to me. Is it just me or are they holding back on awards so they can issue vouchers for you to go see a physio or specialist instead of any payments? Considering I dealt with physios a dozen years ago with no joy, I do not see how they are going to help a guy in his 60's in chronic ill health who has had to access his private pension 5 years early to help pay for his wife to stop working and look after him! Kind regards, one very anti govt distrusting indivdual.

AW
No, the delay has nothing to do with the Green Paper.
A Green Paper is a consultative document, not a policy one, any changes that might be considered as a result of the process would not be considered until the next Parliament and maybe not even then.
There have been long delays in the PIP assessment process for at least two years.

Thank you Gordon. However, I am reading media articles that are stating the DWP are becoming more aggressive in their decision making including those with MS, cerebal palsy and amputees. "DWP deny PIP to 40% - including cancer patients and amputees" .....

Hi AndyWalker13
We can only tell you what we believe - the delay in your PIP review has nothing to do with the Green Paper.
Right up until the election, there will continue to be many horror stories of government and DWP tactics regarding benefits, and it's hard for every single person affected by them.
