PIP Update- can anyone help... was created by Arthritic Annie
Hi,
My PIP award expires Aug 24. I received the review form Dec 23 snd returned it Jan 24. I received a text a few days later to say they had my form. Nothing for months then last week received another message to say they still had my form and they'll progress it as soon as they can. I may still need to see a health care professiona and they'll continue to pay my PIP until its reviewed. I'm in Northern Ireland. Can say advise on a timeline for reviews?
The worry is driving me mad...🤦♀️
Also I received my uprating letter today.
Thanks

Unfortunately, review dates are hugely variable at the moment - I got the 'we've received the report from Capita and will make a decision soon' text the other day 14 months after returning my review form, I know someone who returned his review form at about the same time and got a decision after about a month. Your review will be extended if they haven't made a decision in time for you. Good luck, I hope you hear from them sooner rather than later, but don't be shocked if you're still hanging on in 12 months <3

Hi Arthritic Annie
You are usually given an extension
We cannot give you a timeline as it varies across regions, we may have a member on the forum from NI who is in a better position to answer your question.

UPDATE.....
Just received a text this morning to say:
Your PIP review is complete. You should receive your decision letter in 2 weeks. Once you receive your letter, contact us if you have any questions. Do not call before you get the letter as we will not be able to tell you the decision. Please remember to contact us if your circumstances change.
I'm sick to the bottom of my stomach with worry.....🙈 I assuming this is a paper assessment as I havnt been assessed in any other format. ( quite a few sleepless nights ahead waiting on this....)
Anyway my main question is can I ring them for the assessors report now or would they have it yet?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Also hope the timeline update might be useful to someone.
Many thanks, Arthritic Annie....🩷

Hi AA,
I believe you can request the report after 48 hours. Just call the PIP enquiry line and they'll be able to arrange to get a copy sent out to you. I believe they tend to say "It'll be with you within 10 days".
Chris.

Hi Arthritic Annie, for a paper assessment the report is called a PA3. But a few people have been told there was no report done after a paper assessment. I think those may be where the decision is taken by a Decision Maker without sending it out for assessment to IAS/Capita. Well worth trying to get it, if you hit a difficult call handler who says you can't have it, just try again.
