Bank Account and a gift of cash for Christmas was created by KABTT
Hi there, concerned with all the DWP snooping going on - a young neighbour of mine, with 3 children on UC, has asked if it's ok to pay into her bank account a cheque for £500 gifted to her children for Christmas from her grandmother? I'm not sure so asking here before I suggest anything. Thank you.

Hi kimABT

Providing the money does not take any savings over £6k then it will not affect UC.

Tell your young neighbour with 3 children to enjoy their Christmas and thank their Grandmother for the gift.
