PIP Review was created by Catriona
Hi,
I recently completed the new PIP review form and submitted it using the PIP guide. I sent additional information from my Consultant, OT and Physio after the submitted the original form. I had asked if I could do this and they gave me an extension to my decision being made. Thankfully I was successful in maintaining my levels of benefit, without having to attend for an assessment. Thank you for the support from this website.

Hi, because of my extension I think it was longer but I submitted the forms at the beginning of Sept and the decision letter was dated the 1st Nov

That is fantastic news Catriona. It must be a big relief.
I was just wondering if this was the first time you applied for PIP and did you ask for a Paper based assessment? I am applying for the first time at the minute and hate the thought of it.

Hi Jessica,
no this was a review of my existing PIP award. I too struggled at first with claiming, but the way I see it, is it has allowed me to afford getting help in the house with cleaning etc which leaves me more time to meet my own needs. It also allowed me to reduce my working hours as my condition contributes to fatigue, which in turn allows me to have a better quality of life than if I didn't have PIP and at the end of the day that is what the benefit is for :o)
