Hello,

My PIP form – How your disability affects you, was received by the DWP on the 23rd of November 2017.

I am still waiting for a decision to be made. I was wondering how long does it take for a decision to be made?

Is it possible my claim could be affected if someone phones on my behalf to check the progress of my claim?

Due to the government needing to reassess all PIP claiments with regards to mental health, is it possible there might be a delay with decisions being made?

Have you had an assessment yet? If not then it is likely that your claim is still with an Assessment Provider. You can call them for an update. The AP will dependant on your postcode.

If you have had an assessment then we would expect a Decision to have been made in 2-4 weeks.

Phoning either the AP or the DWP will have no impact on your claim.

We have seen any updated guidance from the DWP in regard the changes so I would not expect them to have any impact on Decisions being made at the moment.
