Pip awarded for Fibromyalgia was created by LB
After much worrying & sleepless nights I received great news this week. I have been awarded both the daily care & mobility component for Fibromyalgia .
This website was invaluable in helping me prepare for my face to face assessment. Originally I only received the care component for DLA . I was always too worried to appeal this , as I didn't want to rock the boat so to speak . So, I wanted to share the news that actually things can go in your favour. The following advice was invaluable: maintain good eye contact with the interviewer, remember that pips is not awarded according to what illness you have , rather how that illness effects you. Make sure you go into micro detail about that ,describing all those times you rely on others to do things for you. Where Fibromyalgia is concerned you can be certain that the interviewer doesn't know much about the illness .Remember , you aren't there to educate them about it or convince them it's real . Instead tell them about how often you stay in bed , how you no longer walk your dog or cook meals . How you physically struggle to get around your home , deal with stairs or take a shower or dry your own hair. You should describe your worst days with the illness would be my advice. Whilst it was a humbling & sometimes depressing experience to spend an hour describing intimate details of my disability , I felt a good rapport with the interviewer & was made to feel comfortable.
Good Luck to anyone awaiting their assessment.

That's great news LB! Thanks for letting us know

For other members - please be aware that we do not advise describing your condition/s only on your worst days (as this could result in allegations of fraud). The guides explain how to deal with reporting variable conditions.

perhaps I didn't word that properly, I guess what I meant was that you must explain what a bad day looks like - even if you're having a good one !
It so happened my interview was during a flare up & my difficulties would have been obvious. I just know that Fibro is v much misunderstood . I would never encourage anyone to be anything but honest . Just make sure you describe how Fibro affects you . Again thank you to this website & good luck to anyone with an assessment coming up.

I too was awarded standard rate care and enhanced mobility for Fybromyalgia and arthritis until Jan 2019. This was18 months ago but I received a review form last month which was mentioned on my award. I filled in no change although I did start going over my condition in the comments box before I realised I didn't need to unless a change. I am worried now that I maybe sent for reassessment as it was mentioned when I rang to check if they had received the form. That was 4 weeks ago and still anxiously waiting for their response. How long were you awarded PIP for and did your award mention review?

  			 				Hi to all,

I was wondering what this PIP review form was? i.e its technical name etc like form pipreview.
As I have never had a review form at all!

All I seem to get is a recall for to be re-assessed. Hence having to jump through hoops again.

You stated this was on your PIP award.
Obviously it would make sense just to send all pip claimants a review form out to them, to fill in with a tick box NO CHANGE or ANY CHANGES written on the form.

The only form I can remember which was a review form asking if there were any changes, was the old IB form. You filled it in...NO CHANGE signed it/ posted it back/ job done. next form would be a review again in 5 years time. Then low and behold, the government Tories, decided to spend billions on changing systems that were not broke. The rest as we all or most of us know is history.

Can any mods enlighten me, what this form is? its title etc.

Kind regards.

It's an AR1 Review form, there is a copy in the PIP section.
