Hey guys, my partner is considering moving in with me and was wondering how it will affect me financially.
My partner works 20 hours per week on minimum wage.

I receive ESA (both income&contribution but income is higher)

I currently receive :
Living expenses (ESA) £73.10
Extra Money for severely disabled £61.85
Extra money because of Disability Income Guarantee £15.75
Extra money because I'm in the Support Group £36.20
I receive no housing costs as i own my own home
I receive full council tax reduction
I also receive PIP


I asked the DWP what ESA i receive, they told me its made up of income and contribution. But on the 3rd page of the breakdown sheet, it says my income related amount is £186.90

Any help would be appreciated

Try putting your information into one of the online benefit calculators

www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators

Your ESA will be treated as a couples claim so you will receive more money, but your partners income will then be deducted, You may lose all of the Income Related ESA element that you currently receive so that is the Disability Income Guarantee and Money for being severely disabled.

The ESA(CB) will not be effected and will remain in payment.
