Support Group qualification has not changed since ESA was introduced in 2008, although there have been changes to some of the Descriptors that the claimant needs to meet, there is a section in the Claim guides that identifies three ways you can be placed in the SG.
The SG is not points based you need to meet one or more of the qualification criteria, some of these correspond to the 15 point Descriptors, but not all of them.
