Many thanks for the excellent guides provided on this site. I have just opened the dreaded brown envelope and have been awarded enhanced rate for both components of PIP until 2026.
I would advise anyone migrating from DLA to PIP or just applying for PIP to read every word in these guides before putting pen to paper, they are so helpful and very informative......A MUST READ....
Also when you go for an "assessment" get someone to go with you, it's a great help at an extremely stressful time. The Health Professional at my assessment was very helpful, explaining to my wife what their medical qualifications were, and said 2 eye opening facts.
1 That if it was easier for my wife to explain my disability problems, then it was OK for her to do so!!!!
2 When my wife filled out my PIP form she put down the medical terms for each of my illnesses and disabilities. The HP then told us that they would go through each one and write them down in plain English on their computer because when the results from my assessment were sent back to the DWP, the people there are NOT medically trained and would not understand any of the Medical terms!!!!!
