Still in the support group thanks to all the people who run this fabulous site. Most of the time I can convince myself (mentally) that I have no medical problems at all and I'm able to work around my problems, but it's obvious to everyone else that I struggle. Having to fill in these forms brings me down to reality with a mighty bump and I couldn't possibly have coped without the guidance and expertise provided by the specialists on here. There's a helluva lot of work involved in completing a form that thoroughly describes the process of living your life in an honest way. It's an impossible task without the right help. Thank you again Benefits and Work, I couldn't have done it without you. Worth every penny. :cheer:

(I'd like to apply for a copy of the decision process and points acquired but I'm having a foggy day and can't find who and where to apply to. Any help gratefully received  )

That's great news jag! Thanks for letting us know and for your kind words about B+W :)

You can phone (or write to) DWP and ask for a copy of the assessor's report (ESA85 as you had a face2face assessment).

If you prefer, you can ask for a copy of all the paperwork associated with your claim. This would be a Subject Access Request.

Requesting a Subject Access Request (SAR) :

SAR Form Download

From this page :

DWP Data Protection Policy

Or you can make the request in the form of a letter, as long as you make it clear that you are making a formal SAR under The Data Protection Act 1998.

Address the envelope : FAO The Data Controller, at the Benefits Office dealing with your PIP.

Write DPA 1998 SAR in front, top, left corner of envelope.

Once received, they have 40 calendar days to comply.

Sending Documents to the DWP.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
