DLA TO PIP was created by Sharon
I have just come through the most distressing change from DLA TO PIP. They initially offered me an appointment to drive to the outskirts of Eastbourne on 31st December for a medical. For one I have had failed back surgery and limited walking, plus mentally I have been classed as a manic depressive and emotionally unstable, so I freaked at the whole thing. I'd had home visits before, so I went off on one of my paranoid rants to my local MP. He got in touch with the DWP and said he wanted to be given copies of everything they gave me and to get someone out to me. ATOS came out, and immediately realised that I was clearly mentally unstable. I remembered all that I had read on here and did the PIP eligibility test. It helped me so much. She left quite quickly but was genuinely a nice person.
Yesterday the brown envelope came through, and I couldn't open it. I left it until the afternoon, having worked myself up so much my mind shut down and I slept. I opened it and admit I had trouble understanding all of it so much paperwork with it. Anyway my son came home and read it and I have been awarded enhanced for both mobility and the other one at enhanced. Can't recall what the other one is. Thank you so much for all that you do. It helps me and my family understand what I'm entitled too. People pay the subscription, it really is amazing. Thanks sharon

  			 				Hi Sharon

I am so sorry that you have had to go through all of this - it's dreadful that you have had your illness made worse because of this awful stressful assessment.

So wise of you to involve your MP - at least now he/she will be aware of the awful strain people are under when undergoing this test.

It's good to know that in some cases common sense does prevail. I hope your award makes your life a little bit easier.
