PIP Tribunal

Hi I was my son's representative at a PIP Tribunal on Monday 16th November. We had the good news today that he was entitled to the daily living component at the standard rate!
We are delighted. I cannot believe that it only took 48 hours after attending!

I am not sure, but does he keep his ESA (support group) now, as well as the PIP?

If I hadn't joined here (at the last minute) it well may have been a different matter. I also took some printed copies of other successful Tribunals and argued the point that an 'aid' to dressing does not have to be something like a frame etc They agreed that the need to sit down on the bed to dress was an aid

My son has had ME since he was 13 and is now 27.

Yes, Tribunal decisions are made quickly, sometimes on the day of the hearing.

This will not adversely affect his ESA SG Award, and as they are two totally different benefits, he can receive both at the same time.

It is normal for the DWP to take 6-8 weeks to action a Tribunal decision, and the more the amount of back payment owed to the claimant, the longer that it may take.

If you haven't heard from DWP at around the 6 week mark, you could post them a copy of the Tribunal's Decision Notice letter as a reminder.
