As far as I am aware first claims for PIP are being run out of local DWP offices, I'm not sure whether repeat claims are being processed from Blackpool or not.

Hi Tinytim,
I filled in the forms on behalf of my husband, with help from this excellent site. I went into plenty of detail & I also 'typed' a statement detailing the problems he has, including all his previous DLA notes/number & requested them to peruse that file. I also typed a statement from myself, saying who I was and the assistance that I provide (care). I honestly think this summary helped, as the main points were clearly printed.
I had no idea that the living allowance would be awarded, the questions I felt were not that applicable but the assessor thought different (she was a nurse) We thought that the mobility was dicey as she did not seem to take a lot of notice of walking/mobility but she scored us 12 points & it was the car we wished to keep. Like you in your later posts, the standing & sitting & walking was so much easier to demonstrate as we were in our own home.
But thank heaven for this site, I did not expect such rigorous assessment. We did not feel overconfident after the assessment, as she gave nothing away.

Hi
You will find some info on what to expect in the guides on claiming and appealing in the members area.
You can also go back through forum posts and find posts from members who have attended hearings.
