She is autistic in a wheelchair and struggles to communicate with others. This was all put in the pip form. I rang and explained this to the DWP and that the only way we can get her out is with earphones on and her DS due to her sensory issues. The lady I spoke to said I was her voice as I was her appointee. Now I am worried that if she refuses to speak it may hinder her claim. Does anyone else have any advice to offer as I feel sick to the stomach about it.
If you are her appointee then it has already been accepted that your daughter cannot act on her own behalf in these matters, so it should not be an issue for you to speak at least in part, on her behalf.
Have you tried to get a home assessment, you will need her GP to write to the Assessment Provider to explain why it is necessary, but it may offer a less traumatic way for hew to be assessed.

If your daughters problems include an inability to communicate with others then it should be understood by the assessor that they are going to need assistance in explaining their difficulties.
