Hi my wife retires before me i am currantly on ESA support group income related. Can anyone tell me what happens when my wife retires do i get a extra premium and if so do they take the premium off my benefit as extra income therefore reducing my ESA. Or does my wife have to make a fresh claim (pension credit) for both of us resulting in me losing my ESA benefit. Replys most welcome Joe.

I would recommend that you get face to face advice from a trained advisor, you have a number of options and you need someone who can explain what these are and how they will effect you. Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
