Does anyone know if PIP award affects IR ESA ?
Is PIP counted as income ?
Mrs QWERTY
Hi Q,
The DWP should be well aware of any PIP decision that you have received.
PIP is not classed as income for IR ESA entitlement purposes and will not have a negative effect on your receipt of IR ESA.
To the contrary, it may mean that you are entitled to payment of The Severe Disability Premium (SDP) as a top up to your IR ESA if you have a PIP Daily Living Award and can fulfil the other criteria :
ESA Premiums If you can fulfil the criteria for the SDP as laid out in the FAQ above, you will probably need to fill in an :
IS10 Form and return it to ESA.
